As an unfunded athlete proudly representing the Canadian National Freestyle Ski Team, I am reaching out for your support to help me realize my dream of competing on the World Stage.
At just 14 years old, I was honored to be selected as the youngest athlete to join the National Team. Since then, I have dedicated myself to honing my skills and pushing my limits in pursuit of excellence. However, one significant obstacle stands in my way: the financial burden of training and competing at the elite level.
Each year, the costs associated with my training and competition total approximately $75,000. These expenses cover everything from team fees, coaching fees, airfare costs, luggage fees, accomodations, lift tickets and competition fees. As an unfunded athlete, I rely heavily on the generosity of supporters like you to help me continue pursuing my passion and representing my country.
This past season, I had the immense honour of being selected as the flag bearer for Canada at the Youth Olympic Games. It was a moment I will cherish for a lifetime. However, the road to that moment was not without its challenges. In the slopestyle event, I faced adversity that tested my resolve and determination. It was through perseverance and resilience that I overcame those obstacles, pushing through to secure Canada's first gold medal in the Big Air competition seen in the video below.
