My name is Daniel O’Brien and I am so excited to be a part of the Ontario Snowboardcross Development Team. I have loved everything about snowboarding since I started when I was 7. I competed in Freestyle for a couple of years then found Snowboardcross and joined the team at Blue Mountain. I love the people you meet and the places it brings you. Ever since I started snowboardcross it has been my goal to make it onto the provincial development and eventually provincial team. It feels great to know you are pushing your limits and making leeway to your goals. From winning the U-15 Provincial championship last year or fighting for 5th in Nationals every part of it was thrilling and something to look forward to every day.
There are still some goals I'd like to achieve in the future; some of these include making it onto the provincials team, competing in my first FIS race, my first NorAm, or even further like my first international race. No matter where you are there’s always ways you can improve and move up in the sport and in the world no matter where I end up in this sport.
Off snow you can find me on an ATV trail, golf course or building stuff in my shop.
