My name is Evan Bichon, I am a snowboard cross athlete residing in North Vancouver BC. I am 25 years old, and I am heading into my 3rd season as a Canadian National team member racing on the World Cup tour.  My sights are set on becoming the best in the world as well as the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy.

I have always had a love for snowboarding starting with the sport at the age of 5. Later joining a local club and finding even more love in it when I discovered snowboard cross. I worked up from age category racing to joining the BC Provincial Team, then the National Development Team until earning my current spot on the senior Canadian National Team gaining many new friends and amazing experiences along the way.

I have made steady progress on the World Cup tour moving up in the overall rankings every single year. I finished 31st in the 21/22 season, improving on that the following year to a 23rd finish overall in the 22/23 season and bettering that again in the most recent 23/24 season finishing 19th overall.

Some highlights of this past season were achieving back-to-back personal best results with a 7th place in the Austrian World Cup and a 4th place finish at our home World Cup in Mt. St. Anne Quebec, missing out on the podium by a little more than an inch!

Following the end of the World Cup season I went on to claim victory wining my first Canadian National Championship title!

My goals this coming winter are to break into those podium positions I came so close to reaching last season and go into World Championships in Switzerland with the same mindset of achieving greatness.

When I am not competing for Canada, I am training in the gym full time throughout the summer to get into the best shape possible to gain an edge against my competition.

On top of full-time training, I work a full-time job to help fund my winter season. The financial cost to being an elite athlete is high, especially in snow sports where traveling to train and compete is mandatory if you want a shot at reaching the top.

I am reaching out in hopes of gaining support from like-minded people to join me on my journey to reach the top of my sport while representing Canada and make my long-lived dream of the Olympic Games a reality.

Thank you for your help!
