My name is Finley Cashin, and I’m a 19-year-old ski racer from Kelowna, BC. I grew up skiing the slopes of the beautiful Big White Ski Resort.
In September, I moved to Calgary to begin my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering while competing for the UofC Dinos ski team. This season will mark my first year focusing on ski cross full-time, after previously competing in alpine events and participating in ski cross races whenever possible.
I am honored to have been nominated to represent Team Canada at the 2025 World University Games, which will take place from January 13-23 in Torino, Italy. While in Europe, I’ll also have the opportunity to compete in a Europa Cup race. In addition to these races, my 2024/25 season will include two Nor-Am Cups at Nakiska (Alberta) and several more on the US east coast, along with the Kimberly Downhill and potentially other alpine events if possible. One of my key goals for this season is to qualify for the World Junior Championships. Ultimately, my dream is to earn a spot on the National Ski Cross Team and compete around the world on the World Cup circuit.
As a junior ski racer in Canada, I am responsible for covering all costs associated with representing my country on the world stage. I do not receive any provincial or federal funding, so my parents have generously shouldered the financial burden until now, and I am incredibly grateful for their continued support. However, as expenses continue to rise, I need to look for additional funding to help achieve my dreams. This is where you, the amazing ski community, family, friends, and anyone willing to support a passionate athlete, can make a difference.
All donations raised through this site will go directly toward covering my 2024/25 season expenses (Snow Athletes Canada requires me to submit receipts for reimbursement).
