Hi my name is Molly Mailer and i’m 16 years old from Calgary, Alberta. I have been snowboarding since I was 4 Years old with Riders On Board and in the last 3 years I have made it my goal to be a professional by training, travelling more and going to the National Sports School to accommodate for how much school I miss.
This season and last season I have been on Team Alberta furthering me to my goal. I have podiumed many times in Alberta competitions and in 2023 Junior National Championships in Calgary I walked away with 6th overall. That same year I was fortunate enough to go compete in the USA nationals where I placed 9th. Last September I was able to go to Switzerland for a training camp where I learned so much from new skills and being in a professional environment. I was able to snowboard with the people I look up to. All of this competing and training has pushed me to become the best I can be coming into this season.
I am lucky enough to live where the only full sized half pipe in Canada is however it’s only there for around 4 months a year which means to train I need to travel. The cost of travelling for training and competitions on top of passes, gear, coaches adds up quickly and is quite expensive. Many of the competitions that will help me be successful with my goal happen to be out of the country. Any money can help me reach my goal and be able to travel to train and compete.
