In 2024, I was the #1 ranked Canadian slopestyle athlete at the Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon placing 8th, and the #1 ranked Canadian slopestyle athlete at the FIS Jr. World Championships in Italy, placing 5th.
Currently, I am among the "top 15" ranked slopestyle and big air athletes in Canada. Freestyle Canada has given me a full tour spot on the FIS NorAm circuit for this season. In 2024-2025, I will take part in competitions in Colorado, Quebec, Calgary, and California. NorAms are a stepping stone to the World Cup circuit. Performance at World Cup events is a criterion for being chosen for the Olympics.
I'm exactly where I need to be at 16 years old to make Team Canada for the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps. But I need your support. Each year it costs my family roughly $75,000 in training and competition fees. Expenses include everything from team fees, coaching fees, airfare costs, luggage fees, accommodation, lift tickets, competition fees, and educational supports like tutoring while I am away from in-class learning.
If it were not for generous gifts from donors like you, I would not be able to fund my... our... Olympic dream of owning the podium at the 2030 Winter Olympics in France. No donation is too small to make a difference to me and my family.
I am proud to represent this sport and my country on the world stage. In fact I consider it a priviledge and an honour. Thank you for your support and being part of my journey. I hope to inspire others as I forge new ties and friendships through sport.
In freestyle,
Matthew Lepine
